I agree. Even though I have never had anything shipped from him, I have bought scorps from his booth at the local swap and they have been in fantastic shape and were well taken care of. Not only that, but he was extremely friendly and knew his creatures better than most.

I had met Botar at the Indianapolis Show a few months back and it was great!
He had a great spread, was friendly and I promptly emptied my wallet with him.

Well I have purchused over 130 tarantulas and several scorpions from him and I will always go to him first!!!! I have never recieved a dead tarantula from him and his packing is the best. As well he is the easiest person to work with and makes every tranaction worth your time!

100% percent positive. I have never bought anything shipped from Botar, but I had heard good things. I always either give him a list when he annouces he'll be at the swap, or stop in and buy from him at the table. If I've given him a list he'll set what I want aside for me, and if he's got time, he usually sets out a group to pick from. The man is responsible for at least 40% of my invert collection.

Ditto what everyone else has said. Charles is a consummate professional and has top quality livestock. Hes a great guy to talk to...I always spend alot of time (and money) at his table when he and I are at the same shows lol.

Just recived my first shipment from Botar last week. The scorp and T were packaged great. The C. vittatus didnt make it and Botar quickly arranged a meet where I could get a replacement. The A. avic was in perfect shape and very healthy. Dealing with Charles (Botar) is a painless experience. He comes highly recommended by me.

We just ordered an adult female C. cyan from Botar (like 5 minutes ago). He *technically* did not have one for sale but is selling one of his to us at an awesome price so we can *hopefully* get our mature male bred. He has worked with us on so many things, in so many ways it's unreal!
He's just a great guy to do business with.

I just finalized my order with Botar today, and they wont be shipped until Monday, but I can say this already... They will be packaged well, they will be very healthy when they get here ( Unless Fed-Ex has anything to say about it ), and I will do business with him again. He's always my go-to guy, and the only way I even think about looking elsewhere is if he doesnt have and cant get what I want.

This wasn't my first order with Charles, nor will it be the last. Charles is a great person to do business with. Communication is top notch, very fast replies to email. He's more than willing to answer all questions and ship when asked.

I have never seen better packing. The slings inside small, well padded shipping vials, inside a larger, well padded deli cup, inside a well padded insulated box. He goes out of the way to make sure the critters arrive safe and sound. The slings themselves are in excellent health and full of energy, everything I expected them to be. Obviously very well cared for.

I couldn't reccomend Charles enough.

I totally agree, i have recieved orders through the mail and had them in less than 24 hours of making my order. Everything was well packaged and very healthy. Charels is very helpful when emailed and asked questions, doesn't take long for replies. I have also dealt with him im person at the Tinley park breeders convention and Lee Watsons Swap meet in Stream Wood IL. I highly recomend Botar by Eights and i am sure I will deal with Charels many more times in the future.

I have the good fortune of living very close to Charles, so I have always been able to go shop and pick out my arachnids. I have done business with him for a few years now and I have never been dissatisfied. Anything I have wanted, he has had or has ordered. He is definitely very knowledgeable about all the species he breeds and sells (which happens to be a rediculously large number). He is also very good about returning emails immediately, and he always returns phone calls from messages, which are not commom because he nearly always answers his phone. Botar By Eights will always be my first choice.

Well I do believe I have now purchused 150 inverts from Botar over the last two years and quite honestly I look forward to purchusing another 150 from him!!!

With my last shippment our weather suddenly turned colder then what was forcasted and these guys all made it just fine due to the superb packing by Botar. As with every shippment with him they arrived on time and all came alive and in great health.

I do not know any dealer who has shipped a person as many inverts as Botar has sent me in as many shippments as he has sent and not had at least one dead arrival. I have had none!!!!!

Not only that, but Botar does not forget things and always honnors his agreements not matter how long it takes.

He is absoluetely the best there is!!!!!!!!! Hands down!!!!!!

Yep its Charles Black or Botar. I do believe he is now officially retired Sherrif deputy and working full time on the tarantulas and other inverts.

I am considering ordering some tarantulas from him probaly a few of the mexican species.

You wont regret it. He is good people. I have met him at reptile shows, been to his house and even ordered online and I have nothing but good to say about him.

I sent him an email inguiring about his avialbilty with some of his tarantulas. he hasnt got back to me and it has been about a week since I sent him the email. so I am a little afraid of ordering from him beacuis it seems he never gets back to you

All e-mails are answered the same day, often within a few hours. If you haven't received a response, then it has been delayed or lost by the cyber gods. I've got a notice on my opening page saying that some e-mails (especially to AOL users) are being delayed or rejected. If you don't get a response, just give me a call. I actually answer my phone... unless I'm in an area without service.

Sorry for the breakdown in communications, but I can pretty much guarantee you that all e-mails are read and answered.

Just recieved another order from Botar. Everything was as I expected it to be. Excellent communication and amazing packing job. The little slings were so cozy in their shipping vials they started making web homes. I recieved 2 P. lugardi and 2 C. fasciatum. All four slings arrived safe and sound and as healthy as could be. The P. lugardi were full of spit and vinigar, and C. fasciatum were even better looking than I expected!!

The little versicolor already webbed up his whole tank, and the A. Azuraklassi is right behind him. I'm very happy with them and I have every intention of ordering from him again.

He goes out of his way for you and also has some hard-to-come-by inverts. I just picked up a E. flavicaudis from him and one for David (Pandinus imp) to try and breed this hard-to-come-by scorpion specie and he even threw in a freebie just to see this project get underway.
