I bought two Suntiger slings and a A. geroldi sling through Greg. He is amazingly patient and puts the hobby and welfare of his slings as the only priority. He's a rally great guy to deal with, has great packing, and fast shipping. I can't wait until the next time I have the oppertunity to do business with him again.

I bought 4 spiders from Greg, and recieved two freebies, which I thought was extremely generous. All were safe and healthy on arrival, and were reasonably priced to begin with. Couldn't have asked for more. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a shipment.

Greg Wolfe <Gipinkfoot@aol.com> / Indiana Exotics : Breeding Loan Review
arachnoboards.com: "Greg Wolfe" venomlist.com: "fang2012"

In February 2006 i was contacted by proxy (Duke from venomlist.com) and public post that Greg had a "female all ready to go" for a mature male P. irimina ("Venezuelan suntiger tarantula") that i had loaned to Duke and was at that time in Duke's possession. I paid my $40 to have Duke ship the spider to greg for a standard 50/50. The spider arrived very late February or very early March.

April 5 Greg's suntiger made an eggsac and he pulled my male from her cage (after over a month of cohabitation).

June 12 the eggsac hatched. I emailed greg to start arranging when and how he was going to ship to me... but greg said that the eggsac was a double clutch from mating her last year, and therefore none of the babies were mine. He said he still had my mail and had some other projects for him. At this point i began to get the feeling that Greg was not a 100% straight shooter. Why would he have me ship a male to him if there was no way it was going to contribute to a sac, in his mind?

Now, here this is the first thing i have really big problems with. Greg NEVER told me his female was already mated and had already produced one dinky 17 sling sac before it mated with my male! I would say this is pretty dang critical information!!! I have to say, i was pretty taken aback by this development. Greg should have told me his female was already mated this intermolt to let me decided if i wanted to start a non-standard breeding loan with him.

Greg's whole point of why he didn't owe me any spiderlings was that my male wasn't there for a full gestation period. This just goes to show that greg does not really understand exactly what is going on when tarantulas mate and breed. Because the nature of the specifics of how tarantulas breed it is impossible to say for sure if my male mated with greg's female and contributed to the sac. *Especially* considering my male cohabitated, unobserved, for something like a month with the female before she made her eggsac

Female tarantulas in the wild often mate with two or more males. it has been demonstrated in studies, and observations by Steve Nunn and others, that females who mate with more than one male are more likely to lay an eggsac and produce more offspring. Futher, tarantulas use what is known as deferred reproduction. The sperm females take into themeselves is not active until it is mixed with the eggs... which happens as the female is laying the eggsac. What this means is that a male could mate with a female 1 day before she makes an eggsac... and still contribute to the eggsac! This also means that some tarantulas can wait as long as THREE YEARS between mating and making a viable eggsac.

December 15, 2006 i emailed greg and asked about my male and he told me that it died after two weeks and he never did anything with it. This is the next thing i have a problem with. According to his own posts (since he didn't email or pm me ONCE informing me about what was going on with my male... ever) the male lived in his possession for almost SIX MONTHS!

At this point and subsequently, greg told me numerous times that he would give me some spiderlings. The only problem was that greg was trading and selling off the spiderlings as fast as he could... in fact, he was even giving them away as freebies!

I have sent many PMs to greg, and for a while it seemed like he was going to be reasonable. He promised me slings a number of times and never delivered. Greg stopped replying to my pms or emails and instead asked Duke to speak to me on his behalf. After i explained the situation... and the specifics of how tarantulas reproduce... Duke told both me and greg that i was right and greg should give me the spiderlings he owes me. Greg never responded to that, nor has he responded to ANY of the other attempts to resolve the situation to our mutual satisfaction. Throughout this whole series of unfortunate events, cruelly called a breeding loan, greg always seemed to be confused on details... but mysteriously anytime he was confused the confusion served his favor.

And for the record... instead of demanding half of the 122 spiderling eggsac that greg's female produced, as is my full right according to our 50/50 agreement, i said it would be fair to send me 33% of the spiderlings, in light of the non-standard nature of the breeding loan. considering the "nonstandard" part was sprung as a surprise on me, i consider this MUCH more than fair.

In short, i would never do any sort of business with Greg again as he was very unfair, selfish, and underhanded through out the whole ordeal. Even if greg is positive he is right (which he isn't) he still should have sent me *some* of the spiderlings to cover for the fact that he failed to inform me of all the pertinent details about his female before our "50/50" loan.

However:
Out of a 10, I'd give the entire shipping process an 8. Not entirely Greg's fault.

USPS was extremely unnerving! Greg sent me the tracking number, but the number never worked!
So, I had no idea where my shipment was angry.gif

My shipment did arrive though smile.gif
(The tracking number STILL doesn't work....)

So, that bit is USPS's fault, entirely. Sorry to be such a bother with all the worried PM's, Greg. unsure.gif

Greg was very generous, giving me an amazing price for 3 beautiful P. cambridgei slings!
(They all arrived healthy and happy, by the way biggrin.gif)

I had a bit of a miscommunication with him about shipping though.........

He told me:
QUOTE
USPS shipping charges to your location will be $25.00, but it will take 2-3 days to get there. I do not guarantee live arrival when more than one day.
UPS or FedEx would be $70.00 to your location.

Now, I calculated it on the USPS website......for a package of as much as 2 pounds (!!!) it would only take $18.80 for an overnight shipment to come from Ft. Wayne, IN to Los Angeles, CA.......and I've NEVER paid more than that when ordering from other reputable sellers.

Despite this lack of cummunication, he was however, kind enough to let me pay only the $18.80, telling me that he'd pay the difference. Now that's a really nice gesture! 00000404.gif

I got the package today (with a lot of nervousness......no tracking.....plus it's delivered to my workplace....which means I'm not here on a Saturday, incase it's a day late).........and I'm perfectly happy with the 3 healthy slings!

But sure enough, the label on the package says $18.80......and it came 2-3 day express......

I don't quite agree with the goings-on as far as this shipping garbage goes......
But, I can't complain! I got 3 nice babies!

These minor inconveniences and anxieties are the reason that I dub this transaction a 8/10

Thanks for the good deal on slings Greg smile.gif

I ordered a 2" female and recieved a 1.5" unsexed and a 1" male Psalmopoeus irminia as freebies!!! 00000404.gif 00000404.gif He dealt with all my newbie questions and believe me there was plenty of them.

I am very pleased with our transaction, and have no doubts that fang2012 and I will be doing business in the very near future....
I think fang2012 is perfect for anyone new or experienced to tarantulas (great specimens, and great communication) and is a person with unlimited experience and willing to share all his knowledge. Fang2012 is easy to deal with, fast shipping, perfect packaging, and the sizes were actually larger than he said they were.

The only downside was.... um..... uh.... oh yeah NOTHING!!!! 00000404.gif 00000404.gif 00000404.gif

EXTREEMLY POSITIVE

I just received a Lasiodora Klugi from Greg. (Fang 2012/ Indiana Exotics)

I have been looking for that particular sp around and nobody seemed to have them ...like if they were gone for good...But Greg has it all!!!!
But seems like the great price he gave me wasn't enough for him and he sent me 3 other gorgeous T's for free !!!!

The packaging was professionally done, the tarantulas arrived in optimum condition, full of energy, plump and eating right away.

Greg's packaging job was a perfect example of how to do the things right., and his tarantulas are healthy and in optimum condition.

I couldn't be happier, if you are looking for quality and rare tarantulas...He has it all!!!

Thanks again for sending me these beauties Greg!!!

Very Positive+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Well, after two days on an airplane due to the illustrious FedEx incompetence I got my female P. irminia and chevron sling from Fang and I couldn't be happier. They where healthy and the irminia ate as soon as I put her in the enclosure. I recommend Fang to anyone as he was helpful and pleasant to deal with even if FedEx wasn't. Thank you Fang thmbup.gif
