Its Time to Plan Missouri Bug Hunt IV

Weekend of May 16th, May 30th, June 6th or June 13th.
The weekend of May 23rd is Memorial Day weekend and while that probably works for me I think we've always tried to do it on another weekend - if that worked for everyone else I'd be up for that.
May 16th is probably a bit early in the year - due to cooler temps at night for those who wish to bring critters to trade or give away.
May 30th and June 6th are probably the best choices.
Anyone planning to come this year? Any thoughts on dates?
Funny how this will be #4 already, haha, how did that happen? It will be here before we know it!

You know I'll be there. lol I agree that we should focus on May 30th or June 6th. Last year was great and I've the glade we need to go to picked out. It's a hike but it'll be well worth it. Backwoods will be going too. Already excited. :jumping:

Does anyone prefer a different date?
I don't. May 30th works for me. Like last year, I'll be getting down there that Thursday. I like being the early bird and greeting everyone as they get there. So,,,whenever we make it official, I'll be getting those days from work. The sooner the better people. Lets' hear what you think.

Awww man... I so wish you guys could do it sometime around the week of June 14th. I'll be in MO starting around the 13th to visit family and I'm determined to get them to go bug hunting with me this year. I wanted to go with you guys last year but didn't make it out to MO early enough. :(

EEEEE! Really?! I'm planning on driving out the 12th. I get to Springfield (usually where I get a hotel... I have family in Columbia, Odessa, Springfield and Branson, lol) around 6'ish in the evening. I can definitely be up a raring to go for a bug hunt on the 13th/14th if ya'll plan it for that weekend. :) This is an annual trip for me so I'll be there for sure.
I'm also planning on staying a week if the next week/weekend works better for anyone?

Bell, Do you have a tent and camping gear? We'll be camping out
Yup... I've acquired quite of bit of camping/bug collecting supplies as our local exotic pet club does a bit of camping and a lot of collecting in the summers... we usually solely do scorpion hunting, though, on camping trips so a lot of what I have centers on wandering around in deserts at 2 AM...trying not to step on rattlers, lol. I'm sure my lanterns, head lamp and black lights can still come in useful in MO, though, too...
Other than tents/basic camping supplies are their other supplies you know of that are a must?
I could also forgo going to Springfield and just drive straight through to the site y'all will be at. Sounds like you guys will prolly be set up prior to Saturday anyway, right? Doesn't make sense for me to get a hotel for one night, go camping, then get a hotel again. :P

So Brian, when are you guys planning an African bug hunt? :P
I sing dela, dela ngyanya dela when I'm with you,

I've been waiting for you all my life hoping for a miracle,
I've been waiting day and night, day and night.
I've been waiting for you all my life waiting for redemption,
I've been wating day and night, I burn for you.
I love you very much, my Honey Badger

lol, good question Martin. When you take care of the airfare, we will be there.
Brian, I am planning on making the bughunt this year. But as some of you may know I totalled my car in the beginning of December. My going solely depends on whether or not my dad can make it. He is the man who got me into snakes and turtles, and then I got him into bugs!! So it all depends on him. I wont be buying another car, so that isn't an option for me.
The reason I will not be buying a car you may ask.................I am planning on a cross-world, hiking adventure in the fall, and I see my not having a car as an opportunity to save money and get rid of any bills I have so I can make this adventure happen!
But I still want to go to the MO bughunt!
